Gerald Konohia

Jerry is a Partner with Longstreet Ventures, LLC  leading its Emerging Markets and Social Enterprise Division. Previously he served as CEO of OpenDoor Housing Fund (2007-2013); Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, Inc. and Chattanooga Community Development Financial Institution ( 2003-2006), each  U.S. Department of Treasury certified  as Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) in the Washington, D.C. and Chattanooga, TN  areas, respectively.

Konohia led each CDFI through strategic repositioning after market conditions towards new market opportunities.  He has also practiced real estate law and provided counsel and consulting services in the areas of corporate finance, property and asset management, and commercial real estate transactions.

Past board service includes serve the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, the Community Foundation of Chattanooga, Inc., and the Chattanooga Urban League.  He also previously served on the Fannie Mae Southeast Regional Advisory Board.

Konohia received his B.A. in Behavioral/Social Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park, Md., and his J.D. from the Howard University School of Law, Washington, D.C. He is the proud father of three grown babies daughter -Sydni (2007);   sons -Jourdan (1991) and Mykel (1990). Konohia was Initiated into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. , Kappa Iota Chapter , on May 4, 2003.
