Dr. Lester Miles, M.D.
Dr. Lester Miles, M.D., has practiced Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology since 1981. He is currently in private practice in the Washington, D.C. metro area. His practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of cancers using intravenous and oral chemotherapy and he also has many years of experience treating persons infected with HIV virus and AIDS-infected complications.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Dr. Miles received an A.A.S. in Chemical Technology in 1969, a B.S. from the City University of New York in 1972and he earned his Doctor of Medicine from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1976. Dr. Miles served his Internship/Residency in Internal Medicine at Howard University Hospital from 1976-79. He also served a Fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Baltimore Cancer Research Center/National Cancer Institute from 1979-1981.
Dr. Miles’ many other affiliations include serving as Lieutenant Commander in the Commissioned Officers Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service in Baltimore, 1979-81; Providence Hospital, 1981; Prince George’s Hospital; and as attending physician and staff physician at the Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home, Forestville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gladys Spellman Specialty Hospital and Nursing Center and the Carroll Manor Nursing Center.
In the early 1980s, Dr. Miles provided medical treatment to individuals addicted to drugs and alcohol through the Narcotic Treatment Administration and the old D.C. General Hospital.
Dr. Miles is the divorced father of three children,: Monday, Jocelyn & Nicole. He also has two grandchildren.
